Join Parkland Music’s ukulele courses — perfect for anyone who wants to learn ukulele in a structured, enjoyable way. Our ukulele teachers are professional musicians with years of experience helping students master the instrument.

Perfect for anyone aged 3 and up — we’ll match you with a ukulele that fits your size and comfort.

Class size

1-to-1 or small group

Choose between one-to-one lessons or small private groups.

Grades

Beginners & Advanced players

We offer lessons for all levels — from beginners to advanced players, up to Grade 8 and diploma level.

Duration

30 / 45 / 60min

For little ones, 30 minutes is usually best; 45 minutes suits older kids, and 60 minutes is ideal for teens and adults.

Beginners

  • Equivalent to Rockschool/Trinity Rock & Pop Debut to Grade 3
  • Ukulele playing posture
  • Basic Music Theory
  • Basic playing techniques such as chord sweep, string pull, slide, bend, etc.
  • Basic Scales and Arpeggios
  • Simple Arrangement
  • Chord Progressions
  • Guitar Maintenance
  • 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions

Intermediate

  • Equivalent to Grade 4 to 5
  • Economy picking, Harmonics and other intermediate techniques
  • Intermediate chords
  • Intermediate Scales and Arpeggios
  • Intermediate Arranging
  • Study different genres (Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, etc.)
  • Modulation
  • Improvisation
  • Choose between 45 and 60 minutes

Advanced

  • Equivalent to Grade 6 to 8
  • Advanced Scales and Arpeggios
  • Chord substitution & Jazz chords
  • Advanced Improvisation Techniques
  • Introduction to Mode
  • Advanced playing techniques such as Tapping, Sweep picking, and stringing
  • Jazz playing style
  • Alternative tuning
  • Advanced Improvisation
  • Choose between 45 and 60 minutes
