Perfect for anyone aged 3 and up — we’ll match you with a cajon that fits your size and comfort.

1-to-1 or small group

Choose between one-to-one lessons or small private groups.

Grades

Beginners & Advanced players

We offer lessons for all levels — from beginners to advanced players, up to Grade 8 and diploma level.

Duration

30 / 45 / 60min

For little ones, 30 minutes is usually best; 45 minutes suits older kids, and 60 minutes is ideal for teens and adults.

Beginners

  • Equivalent to Rockschool/Trinity Rock & Pop Debut to Grade 3
  • Structure of cajon
  • Basic music theory and music reading
  • Basic tapping techniques such as bass, tip, slap, open, ton, etc.
  • Basic Rhythm
  • Basic tapping style
  • Song Application Practice
  • Choose from 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions

Intermediate

  • Equivalent to Grade 4 to 5
  • Intermediate tapping techniques
  • Intermediate rhythm
  • Intermediate percussion style
  • Learn about drummer solo techniques
  • Learn about other percussion accessories (sand eggs, sand bells, shakers, etc.)
  • Song Application Practice
  • Improvisation techniques
  • Choose between 45 and 60 minutes

Advanced

  • Equivalent to Grade 6 to 8
