Cello Lessons for All Levels

Learn to play the cello with confidence through Parkland Music’s professional cello lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our experienced cello teachers focus on posture, bowing, tone, and musical phrasing to help you build strong fundamentals and expression. Whether you’re a beginner or preparing for ABRSM Grade 8 or diploma exams, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Beginners & Advanced players

We offer lessons for all levels — from beginners to advanced players, up to Grade 8 and diploma level.

Duration

30 / 45 / 60min

For little ones, 30 minutes is usually best; 45 minutes suits older kids, and 60 minutes is ideal for teens and adults.

Beginners

  • Equivalent to ABRSM / Trinity Debut to Grade 3

Where do the lessons take place?

Our in-person lessons are held at Parkland Music, 21 Stamford Street, Altrincham, WA14 1EX, a convenient town-centre location with excellent transport links by tram, bus, bike, or car.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes. Trial lessons are available so students can meet the tutor, experience the teaching style, and decide whether the course is the right fit.
Do I need to bring my own instruments?

Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments. If you need advice on choosing or purchasing an instrument, our staff are happy to help.
Can I reschedule a lesson?

Yes, you may reschedule a lesson without extra charge if you provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
What happens if the tutor cancels a lesson?

If a tutor needs to cancel a lesson, we will arrange a make-up lesson or provide a substitute tutor at no additional cost.
How do I pay for lessons?

A trial lesson must be paid in advance by card or online payment. All regular lesson fees are collected by Direct Debit only. A minimum of four lessons will be charged after the trial.

Do you prepare students for music exams?

Yes, we can prepare students for graded music exams such as ABRSM, Rockschool or Trinity, if this aligns with your learning goals.
